Professor Frederik C. Krebs has conducted research within the field of organic solar cells for more than a decade and is recognized as a leading expert on polymer solar cells by the international scientific community. His main research interests within polymer solar cells range from synthesis of new materials and stability, advanced device structures (tandem polymer solar cells), roll-to-roll processing, large scale manufacture, lifecycle analyses and recycling, and last but not least large-scale energy production from polymer-based solar parks.
He has published more than 300 papers on polymer solar cells and has received a number of prestigious Danish R&D prizes, including Grundfosprisen and EliteForsk. He is a member of several international research councils as well as journal editorial boards.
Together with collaborator Senior Research Scientist Mikkel Jørgensen he appeared in the report: THE WORLD’s Most Influential Scientific Minds 2014, compiled by Thomson Reuter on the basis of an analysis of which researchers are most frequently cited by their peers
In recent years, his research focus on foil based energy systems has expanded to include related fields, such as printed organic electronics, thermoelectrics, and electrochromics.
